Website Purpose

Glendora Weather LogoThis site is dedicated to the pursuit of education through the study of meteorology. GlendoraWeather.com was originally conceived to aid in the instruction of the State of California elementary school curriculum standards. During the process of researching for the purposes of this site development, many other educational resources were discovered. I encourage educators to browse through the Related and Educational links on each page. The Meteorological data contained on this site is uploaded from a weather station atop Cullen Elementary School.

This web site is owned and operated by Mrs. Rachel Mandala, a 2nd grade teacher at Cullen Elementary School, Glendora U.S.D. Our weather data is published to Globe Program, Citizen Weather Observer Program, WeatherUnderground, WeatherForYou, AnythingWeather, AWEKAS and the Southwestern Weather Network.

This website is provided as a community service and is non-profit. It is supported by Glendora Unified School District, educational grants and Rachel Mandala.

The operators of this web site are not responsible for inaccuracies in the weather data.
DO NOT base life or health decisions by the data on this site or any other internet site!

Glendora Random Weather Fact

SEVERE WEATHER
Most of the severe weather is seen in the LA Metro area, is caused by micro bursts--not tornadoes. A "micro burst" is a small area of rapidly descending air beneath a thunderstorm. When the descending air hits the ground, it quickly spreads out in all directions, causing very strong, straight-line winds. These winds are commonly as strong as 40-60 mph but can exceed 100 mph at times. Micro bursts occur over a rather small space-scale, typically the area affected is less than 2.5 miles in diameter.
